They say your eyes are the window to your soul, but how about turning the saying on its head and looking through windows to the wonderful views outside? Here are four wonderful vistas seen through some very old windows: Three are from Packwood House, Warwickshire, one from the Tower of London and London Bridge, and the last one from Kenilworth Castle, Warwickshire. Notice there is no glass in the Kenilworth Castle pic. Glass was first used for windows in Britain in the early 17th century although panes of horn were sometimes used as far back as the 14th century. Whether it's high tea or afternoon tea, tea time in Britain is still a tradition and going out for the day is not complete without a stop for tea. Of course many opt for a cream tea, which originated in the West Country and have become a staple everywhere, others enjoy a pot of tea and s piece of cake. A full tea though will include tiny sandwiches along with the scones, cake and tea. Remember tea will come in a pot, sometimes even with a tea strainer and a tea cost. My pics today include a table laid for tea at Baddesley Clinton, Teddy Bears Picnic at Hanbury Hall, antique tea cup and saucer, table laid for dinner at Charlecote Park and afternoon tea at Harrods, London. Fun Fact: 165 million cups of tea are drink in Britain every day! That's a staggering 60.2 billion cups a year! Extra Fun Tip: A unique afternoon tea experience can be had at one of the many National Trust restaurants which feature regional specialities such as West Country Apple Cake or Bara Brith from Wales...the choice really is endless...
