The strangest scents of all, it was what had brought him here. Staring at the path ahead Rhaegal moved forwards. The destination was unknown and that was thrilling in it’s own way. Climbing higher and higher, his humanly heart was beating eagerly faster against confinement of delicate rib cage.
Over several years Rhaegal had grown accustomed to his own surroundings but he hadn’t reached this land before. It was foreign to him as his was to it. Yet his own curiosity had inspired him to keep on moving forward.
Once reaching the height, the pathway had eventually disappeared under his feet. Following the scent Rhaegal had finally reached it’s source. ‘’Ohh,’’ he breathed out as he saw an injured stranger. Licking his bottom lip, Rhaegal offered help but the stranger declined.
‘‘Oh come come, now is not the time,’‘ he shook his head in disapproval. ‘’That looks quite serious. Allow me to take a look at it at least,’’ he offered again.
Valeria had thought that she had gotten herself deep enough into the woods so that no one would notice her. She wanted to be left alone and not pestered about anything. But she quickly realized that she hadn’t gone far enough and someone had managed to find her. For the moment she kept her gaze down at the considerable gash across her arm.
The leather from her armor was cleanly cut through like it was nothing. The other’s blade had managed to hit their mark. Red eyes snapped over to the stranger as she heard him speak, her free hand moving to cover the gash as best as she could. She didn’t recognize him nor could she could guess as to who he was.
But he was persistent. Most people seemed to be when they saw someone who was injured. “If I needed help, I wouldn’t have come this far into the woods.” Valeria replied, trying not to snap. After all, he was just trying to help so there was no reason for her to be rude. There was only one thing holding her back from letting him help her; she didn’t bleed. And that threw people off most of the time. Not many were too welcoming of vampires.
“There’s really nothing to look at.” She huffed, glancing around to try and a solution to the open wound. “What are you even doing this far off the path? No one comes down here.”
