location: florence’s chambers, the reach lodgings, barrowtown who: @rhea-florent
florence sat on the edge of her seat, eagerly awaiting for the mistress of whispers’ arrival. prior to her marriage to the prince regent, florence had limited interactions with rhea florent. in fact, florence could not recall ever meeting with the lady of brightkeep prior to her marriage. when she had first been presented at court a few years ago, she did her best to interact with the least amount of people possible, to not stand out. she stood in the shadows, preferred to be left alone and unrecognized. but now, it was as if she was living an entirely different life. she did not avoid members of the tyrell court, now also technically her court, trying her best to be better. to be able to do better for the smallfolk of the reach.
her latest project was to establish enough funds to build a small school for the village of oldtown, but with her brother’s refusal to adjust his cuts to social expenditures, it made florence’s goal that much harder to meet. and that’s when she thought of lady florent. as both cousin and spymaster to prince regent, she could be useful in securing more funding. she had all the social connection with the bannerman that florence did not have, and most likely would never have given her bastard title, but she also held most of the court’s darkest and deepest secrets.
she soon extended an invitation to rhea, inviting her for tea to discuss matters regarding her project further. she heard the two wooden doors to her chambers open, seeing rhea enter. somewhat startled by her entrance given her nerves, she smiled at her as she made her way to her. “lady florent. thank you for coming. please, come take a seat.” she moved to the teapot, “can i pour you a cup?”
