"What - what are you doing?" Dylan panicked as she watched Connor sink to one knee in the snow, his gloved hands reaching into his coat pocket.

"What I've been wanting to do for the longest time -" He pulled out a velvet box and Dylan clamped a hand over her mouth. Tears filled her eyes.

"Oh, my God..."

"I had a whole speech planned but none of that really seems to matter now that we're here and I'm really nervous but... Dylan, will you marry me?" She drew in a deep breath, lungs filled with icy cold air before she replied.

"Yeah - Yes!" Dylan dropped down to his level and cupped his wind-swept cheeks to kiss him, smiling from ear to ear.

"I love you... I love you so much," Connor professed with a smile against her lips before she pulled away. Excited, he plucked the ring from the box and slid it up her finger.

"What are you -" Dylan stopped talking and her breath hitched in her throat at the press of cold metal against her neck.

"You said you wanted to try something new..." Connor pushed himself closer to her and pressed the flat of the blade to the pulse point on her throat.

"But - right now?" He moved the blade to run the flat side along her jaw and stopped at her chin, letting it press against her bottom lip.

"Unless you wanna stop?" Dylan shook her head slowly, the knife still resting against her lips.

"No. I don't..." Connor undid the front of the button-up she'd stolen from him. As it fell of her shoulders, he moved the knife down her neck again, and across to her bra strap. The entire time, Dylan couldn't look away from Connor. The soft lilac strap snapped in half with little persuasion from the switchblade.

"That was my favourite bra," she pouted with a huff before watching as he cut the other strap too.

"I'll buy you a new one..."

ER doors slid open and let in two Gurney's, swarmed with paramedics. Atop the gurney at the front was Dylan, providing chest compressions on an adolescent casualty. Whilst the paramedics relayed information to the intake team, she remained focussed on the compressions.

"- Alright, I'll take it from here," a baritone voice caught her attention. Dylan barely glanced up at his face and shook her head.

"I've got her-"

"Miss -"

"Doctor Campbell. Mass General Children's Hospital. Trust me, I know what I'm doing," she assured him with a breathless nod and he stepped back.

"Okay, they're all yours." His surrender made her smile a little and she took another look at his face before reading the name stitched into his lab coat.

"Thanks, Doctor Rhodes."

Spring break was over, everyone had moved back into their accommodations and the campus was alive again. Dylan was in the line for the food truck in the courtyard, the sun warmed her back through her sweatshirt.

"Dylan!" She turned in search of who'd called her name and just a few meters away, under a nearby tree, was Connor. Tanned, well-rested and smiling ear-to-ear.

"Connor -" Dylan took off, food order forgotten as she hurried over to meet him.

"Hey, you -" She wrapped herself around him and he caught her, hands holding the backs of her thighs firmly. Lips connected. Hungry and keen.

"Someone's happy to see me," he teased and nipped at her bottom lip. Fingers carded through his hair and pulled him in again.

"Missed you..." she replied, half-mumbled with a grin.

"Hey, hey - let me look at that," Dylan insisted as they got back to the apartment. The adrenaline of the scuffle had worn off and left Connor shaking ever so slightly.

"I'm fine -"

"No. No, Connor, look at me," she prompted as he hung his jacket up. He turned to face her and held out his hand, reluctant. There were a few specks of blood from broken skin on his knuckles and Dylan led him into the bathroom.

"I can't believe you punched your dad... I mean, I can believe it. But like, in front of all those people..." she spoke quietly as she reached for the first aid box from under the sink. Connor perched on the edge of the bath and watched her.

"It felt good," he confessed with a slight nod and Dylan shook her head slightly.

"It looked like it felt good. Stay here a second I'm gonna get you some ice..." Dylan went off in search of the ice and a towel to wrap it in, returning a few minutes later. Without saying much else, she cleaned his knuckles with an anti-bacterial wipe and wrapped them with a thin layer of gauze.

"Alright, Prince Charming, ice for ten minutes," she instructed and pressed a kiss to the bandaged hand. With a bemused chuckle he accepted the wrapped up ice and kissed her on the forehead.

"Where did you learn to play like that?" Connor asks as he slid onto the bench next to Dylan, who didn't falter at the arrival of his company.

"My mom taught me," she replied simply and continued to play the piano, unphased as the notes filled the air.

"What's your favourite thing to play?" She didn't have to think about it long before Dylan started to play, her fingers pressing the keys from memory as the familiar tune filled the air.

Chiquitita by ABBA was all that could be heard and Connor could only watch in awe as she bounced between chords and octaves without so much as a second glance.

The more she got into it, Dylan began to sing along quietly, her head flooded with fond memories of hours spent at the grand piano on Saturday mornings, tormenting Tom and her father with not-quite-polished performances of various songs.

Dylan only made it to the end of the first chorus before she stopped and turned with goosebumps on her arms to look at Connor.

"Why'd you stop?"

"She taught me that song. And I play it when I miss her," she stated with a shrug. Connor leaned in an unreadable expression on his face.

"Stop being so attractive, I don't think I can fall much further for you," he spoke quietly, a warm grin on his face as she flushed rosy red and turned away.

"You're just saying that -"

"Am not. Play something else for me?" There was no way to turn him down when he was looking at her with such soft eyes. At that proximity, Dylan appreciated how pretty Connor was.

"I bet a face like yours doesn't get told no often, hm?"

Like he'll sit and simmer I'm his jealousy and be not entirely aware of the fact that he's jealous

Which Dylan loves to tease him about because when he realises that he's jealous he sulks/pouts about it

For example: when Matt and Dylan are first introduced, he passes comments about them almost nonstop afterwards

It's teasing, but it's also him being v v jealous

You best believe when they're not yet official he gets jealous over the smallest things

A dad who hugs her a little too long

A college kid that makes her laugh

The list is endless

And then they get together and it's kicked up to 11

Esp when they go to events together on each others arms

And everyone's staring at how amazing she looks all dressed up and not in scrubs for a change

Though he'd argue till he was blue in the face that she even looked amazing in scrubs

He's just a very protective guy that wants to be sure that she's not going to leave him for anyone else - which she'd never

And when Dylan starts to learn his physical cues, it's SO EASY for her to pick up on when he's jealous and broody
