“...Is that how you think of me, Anya? He who holds no concern for his people?” ...Ah, this was rather awkward. Part of him was happy to speak with her again, but..the other was deeply burdened. The few times they spoke nowadays were always like this, she bore him scorn whilst he bore her sadness. They never spoke to one another as siblings anymore, they never spoke to one another as anything less than comrades. Even with that, it felt daunting to keep conversing with she who resents him.
His throat was engulfed in an aching pain. Did he want to...cry? Maybe. That’s certainly what it felt like; his chest felt as if it was shattered like glass, scattered into pieces. That’s how it always felt with her...where did everything go so wrong between them?
“You may perceive me how you wish, I suppose. I cannot force you to think of me fondly.” That’s what he said, but it is not what he believes. He wanted to desperately rekindle their bond, but such a feat seemed impossible for his hands to accomplish. His arms remained at his sides, but what he really wanted to do was reach out and hug her - apologize for failing as her elder brother. Perhaps that’s what she meant?
..Whatever the case, he bites down on his lower lip - but forces himself to lock eyes with her.
“..I know not the ordeals you suffered to become the Priestess you are today, Anya; what I do know is that you’ve resented me ever since. Perhaps it’s because we now both represent two different factions of Kjerag, or perhaps it’s simply something happened in my time away. Not a moment has gone by where I haven’t missed you or Encia, we are all that remain of our family - why must we spend such days in isolation from one another? Why is it you choose to be disappointed rather than proud of me?” Once he finished speaking, he let out a heavy sigh - before shaking his head and performing a salute.
“...Forgive my outburst, Pramanix. It was unprofessional and shan’t happen again.” Turning his back, he quickly retreats so that he may not hear her response.
