dunno if you're still taking turtle drabble prompts, but maybe you could write about the 2k12 guys meeting their different incarnations? something a la the turtles forever movie?

(Went a little bit different direction with this.  2k12 Splinter meets the 2k14 turtles.)

IN A STRANGE LAND

They are his sons, but they are not his sons.

From their expressions and the careful deliberation with which they avoid calling him “Sensei,” he is not alone in this strange feeling.

Still, after three months of unknowing in the depths of the ruined city, it is good to find at least one version of his children well and breathing, if lost and very far from home.   

“Master Yoshi.”  Leonardo bows, the gesture and formality of his tone dizzyingly familiar despite the drastic differences of his body.  “We thank you for your hospitality.”  Donatello and Michelangelo also dip their heads, but Raphael stands straight and defiant.  That, too, is so familiar that it aches.

Their clothing and various tattoos and brandings speak to a more worldly upbringing than the relatively monastic life of the old subway station.  But when they sleep, propped together in a line against the base of the ruined couch, shells too curved for the comfort of long-empty beds, their faces are soft.  Young. 

He reaches out, brushes one claw along a green, pebbled brow. 

Donatello is not as deeply asleep as he seems.  He blinks blindly up at him, glasses tucked safely away in one of his many pockets.  “Dad?”

It is selfish of him to lie to this child, but it has been a long, long winter.  Hamato Yoshi is weak with loneliness and loss.

“Rest, my son,” he says, pressing his palm against the worried crease where flesh meets tattered fabric.  Donatello relaxes, his eyes fluttering closed.  “I am here.”
