I noticed that rhondonite Purpurite and Californite have similar purposes; they tamper with a gem’s emotions to make them more productive, but they just do it in different ways.
Californites wipe out any emotion that is preventing a gem from doing their duties.
Purpurites absorb fear energy from gems who are too afraid to do their jobs.
Rhondonites project emotions onto gems around her to speed up production.
What is the difference in utility? what’s the point of having three gems that give the same result if it would waste less resources to only choose one? Is it that they are deployed in different environments and levels of the hierarchy?
Like Purpurites have the added bonus of creating scary creatures and differ from the others by getting rid of a specific emotion, fear, so she’d probably be sent to battlefields to get rid of the fear of soldiers, while she also pulls double duty as a gem that would add to their side’s numbers.
Maybe Californites focus on the upper crust because she’s the highest rank of the three, and if that were the case, then she would mostly wipe out guilt and empathy and keep the upper crust detached so they feel superior to the lower-ranking gems. She makes sure the higher-ranking gems stay impartial judges like fluorite, indifferent seers like sapphires, and strict supervisors like papagoite.
I think rhondonites would probably be more focused on construction or assembly lines since she can affect multiple gems at once, making everyone have the same emotions, which results in them working in tandem and moving more in-sink. She's a pink gem, and connecting with the minds of others and getting them to work together is a very pink gem ability.
Lol i agree that they do have similar purposes. When you have a lot of gems you tend to forget already existing roles.
For purpurite, I'm limiting her role to only create creatures from darkness. these creatures are ineffective if the opponent has no fear or uses a lot of light.
For Californite, she will be given the ability to remove an emotion temporarily stored in a bubble, when that bubble pops its returned to its owner.
I like your rhodonite idea! Ima use it, Its like making rhodonite some type of cheerleader haha.
