2 years ago, on September 22, Johnny attended and was the special guest on Jeff Beck’s fifth show on his 2019 Tour, now rocking the Torbin Center for the Performing Arts, in San Antonio, Texas
Just like on the previous shows on September 17, 18, 20 and 21 Johnny was not announced as special guest but by that time those who were going to attend was already expecting him to appear. And indeed it happened, making his surprise appearing in the middle of the show while Jeff was playing “Rumble” by Link Wray. Johnny stayed on stage until the last song, playing guitar and singing three songs: His cover of John Lennon’s “Isolation”, his unreleased song “This is a Song for Ms. Hedy Lamarr”, and his cover of ZZ Top’s “Hey Mr. Millionaire” which closed the show.
