some Iska + Rhuv thoughts bc they're as blank as sheets except for how Iska gets heartbroken when Rhuv always dies first in the NPC encounter

Iska probably had a larion companion back in Bastion so she knows how to take care of animals and form relationships with them, she keeps three giant mawrats alongside Rhuv, calling them Emiya, Furu and Viko for now

Rhuv is very aggressive even for a soul eater and would hiss and snarl at pretty much anything/anyone that breaks boundaries and gets too close, there's no canon gender but I'll assign them he/him in my headcanons

Soul eaters legit have 3 sentences of lore so I'll just say in my AU they aren't officially a part of the Mawsworn unlike the shadehounds unless you somehow train them to not eat you

Rhuv definitely tried to eat Iska when they first met, he was disrupting soul transfers in the area by eating them and killing other lesser Mawsworn so Krala sent Iska to deal with him

But then a hurricane conjured by death elementals swept them both up in the middle of the fight; afterwards Iska's wing got impaled by a rock and she dislocates her left shoulder, Rhuv got hit by debris on the head and ended up disoriented with staggered movement

Now they couldn't really pick up where they left off from the fight so temporary truce

Iska sees how Rhuv tries to hunt souls but keeps missing lunges, and she realises she hasn't seen him fly at all despite having wings, not during the hurricane either or the fight. She looks closer and his wings are actually torn and injured from previous fights and he's isolated from the other soul eaters bc of his aggression as well.

And in turn Rhuv sees Iska trying to patch herself up, tries to fly but can't, and survey the area for a way back to Desmotaeron but they're in the middle of the Beastwarrens surrounded by other hostile Maw creatures/Mawsworn that don't care about an injured Mawsworn kyrian and soul eater

Iska does eventually spear some souls with her good hand so Rhuv gets food, Rhuv gets her some mawrats the same way a cat gives their owner dead rats as a gift so they survive for the time being

WBN lore drop - spoilers!

So i know from previous episodes:

The King of Storms = father of Naram, Wave Lord

Orima = Naram’s wife

Warlocks of Rhuv = magic users in Rhuv. Ame’s ancestor is an immortal Rhuvian warlock

Yet so many questions.

Who are the “12 spirits of Rhuv”? Is the “moon spirit” to whom Ame’s immortal ancestor indebted to one of those spirits?

When did the KoS and OoRG became allies to MIB? When Naram was captured? After Naram was freed? I have a hunch but, why isn’t Naram sworn to MIB?

The “house of Tekal(?)”??? The “stone of Castvi(?)”??? Those are new to me. Have they been mentioned in past episodes before? This is what I get for not taking notes. If they have been, please tell me. Thanks.

Rhuv swallowed Emiya when Iska wasn’t watching and she got stuck in his stomach, he spat her out 10 seconds later but her leash was still stuck

Iska saw him choking and tried to help him, she ended up taking him to Moros who x-rayed him and got it out, but somehow a month later the same incident happened nobody knows how or why

I need time to sit down and properly write bc I have an idea about Iska and Rhuv meeting each other for the first time and they immediately try to kill the other for a mission/survival before shitty Maw weather injures them both and forces them to rely on each other to survive -> bonding

Lovesliescrushing were one of the first artists that really leaped out at me from Projekt Records’ discography in the mid 90s, so it’s nice to see both the duo and Scott Cortez (solo) continue to release music on Line instead. Here the music is almost entirely carried by layers of Melissa Arpin’s dreamy voice, beautiful and sublime.
