Welp.

It looks like we’re going to surround @vachir-qerel now. With myself, @poor-rhyan and @vexredain here, there’s no letting him go anywhere. Lmao

“I’m tired. So tired. Tired of being broken. Tired of caring, of lies, of hiding. Of disappointing people. Of people disappointing me. Just so tired.”

Rhyan sat on the cliff, looking out over the mountains and water. He wrapped one arm round the animated stuffed tonberry, hugging it close to him and flicked a pebble out from the ground with his other, watching its descent til he couldn’t see it anymore. 

“Somewhere over there is Sharlayan. Do you think he ever thinks of us, Fido?” He asked the tonberry whom, of course, couldn’t answer as it was just a toy. “Nah, neither do I.” 

He patted the toy on the head then set it aside, standing up. He kicked another stone off the cliff, frowning a little as he watched it as well. 

“It’s no more than I deserve. I am a murderer, after all. Fratricide. I don’t do things by halves, do I, Fido?”

Rhyan shuffled closer to the edge, looking down. Was that a pine tree? Deciduous? He couldn’t tell from this height. 

“I hate this time of year, don’t you? Starlight, I mean. So many expectations and none of them fulfilled. Mind you, that’s pretty much every day for people like us, isn’t it?” A voice from behind Rhyan said.

Rhyan, startled, looked around, and lost his balance, but a strong hand came out and righted him and he was faced with the most brilliantly red hair and green eyes he’d ever seen. 

“Careful now. You wouldn’t want to fall. Would you?” The strange hyur asked. He was young. Very young. Younger than Rhyan himself but had a wisdom in his look. A certain maturity in his gaze. And lots of freckles.

“Would you?” He repeated. 

Rhyan shook his head. “No..I...was just...” He looked to the edge and swallowed a little. “..looking.”

The other man nodded and looked down over the edge as well, kicking a few pebbles off, himself.

“I look sometimes, too.” He said with a smile. “Anyway, if you’re ever in Ishgard, look me up. Dominic Stone. Or I’ll find you.” He said mysteriously.

Rhyan was confused. He turned fully then to face the stranger, giving him sceptical look. 

“How are you going to find me? You don’t...know me.” he insisted. 

The red head smiled. “Don’t worry. I’ll find you, Rhyan.” He then held out his hand. something small clutched within his closed fist. “Oh, and, by the way. Happy early Starlight.” He said.

Rhyan furrowed his brow and extended his hand, ready to receive the gift. A small, shiny, black stone was dropped into the musician’s  hand. Rhyan examined it closely for just a second before looking up to talk to the one who’d gifted it. In that moment, he became dizzy, his mind filling with thousands of thoughts and feelings and experiences that were unfamiliar and yet, somehow now his.In midst of this mental flurry, he heard the voice of the other man.

“You’re called not because of your suffering, but because you care so much it hurts. Use your pain. It will become your strength.” And then the sound of a teleportation spell. 

When Rhyan finally started to make sense of the thoughts going through his head, he found himself seated on the ground and alone, save for Fido. And a large sword. Rhyan looked at the sword and immediately knew it was for him and frowned. 

“...uuuugh, that looks fucking heavy.” He complained to Fido before picking up the stuffed tonberry and the sword off and making for the aetheryte crystal.

((So Kas and Andrew inspired the name that Rhyan’s first album would be called during an IC drunken escapade and I thought, wouldn’t it be fun to actually MAKE an album for him, with album art and stuff. So that’s what I did. lol I may try to do this again with his other songs - he has a load.))
