@riastartha wants to say hello!
Ninny was absolutely nothing if not polite when she wished to be, and she knew her way around the Irish. (As in she knew one Irish woman, and Ninny had become very good at mimicking the accent.) It was time to pull all the tools out of her metaphorical social toolbelt.
“Dia dhuit! Dia dhuit. Is mise Ninny. Dia dhuit.” The fae girl did a bit of a scuttle towards the stranger, clutching at her dress. That was the extent of her Irish speaking knowledge, and she was sure hoping no one expected her to say any more.
“I heard you talking. I heard you talking, so I heard your accent, and I knew.” Ninny’s face was very solemn, as if assigning a mission. “I heard, ‘cause you sound like one of my best friends, and she’s Irish. But I need to ask something, ‘cause I can’t ask her. It’s too late into the friendship to ask her. D’you know lots about Irish creatures? Like, the sorta creatures only in Ireland?”
