Get a load of this Battletoads-looking guy over here! What’s he doing in a Mario game? I don’t know! He’s one of the first enemies in the game that’s not originally from the Mario franchise, and I must say, it shows. Mario wouldn’t jump on this! Donkey Kong would, if anything! If K. Rool was a frog instead of a crocodile, you know.
Even weirder is that there are other frog characters in the game, like Frogfucius, who is decidedly not a Battletoad at all. Though at the same time, he’s pretty anatomically realistic, I guess. And then the frogs in Odyssey are INCREDIBLY realistic... I guess they just never settled on a way to translate frogs to the Mario art style!

There’s also Ribbite. Ribbite’s Psychopath thought is "My dad says, ‘Hello.’". That’s nice to know, I guess! Hello, Ribbite’s Dad!
