I’d say that no matter what I always surround every oc with supporting friends/families/partners. So not everyone has a perfect life or health and I need to use them to project my own issues and flaws and practice my writing, but they have a silver lining and I value chosen families. I dislike those who use tragedy just for the heck of it or to be edgy™, it's not good writing lmao, especially if it doesn't shape/develop the character in any way (and don't get me started on those who use mental illness as an evil trait).
