It pained him to admit it, but the RED Scout sort of had a point. The BLU team had improved their performance lately, and the Medic had been ranting for some time about upgrading their equipment and coming up with new ideas to outsmart them - he just hadn’t been expecting one of those ideas to come from one of the scatterbrains Scouts could be. From the Medic’s personal experience, anything involving a Scout’s idea could go horribly wrong. But the girl was smart and seemed to know what strings to pull to get the resident doctor on her side.
He scratched his chin, looking at her thoughtfully, refusing just yet to give a definitive answer. Blue eyes squinting above his small round glasses, he replied:
“I must say, your idea intrigues me, Fraulein Scout. You are right, it should be possible to alter some of the functions of the Medigun to increase your speed, if only temporarily. But there is also a risk, as with all experiments, especially with the Medigun.” Yeah, as if that had stopped him before. Clearly that was just an excuse to give himself some more time to think about it. “Let me give it some more thought, and I will get back to you to let you know about my decision.” The Medic opened his notebook again, considering the conversation closed. He had obviously forgotten about the Scouts’ notorious stubborness…
As much as she would have loved to gloat about how she came up with such a great idea, a light pout formed on her lips instead. Risk? He could deal with other risks that he had zero idea of they would even work, but this one he would have to think about? A look of disbelief soon wore itself into the lines of her face.
"Oh come'on, Doc!" She started with a huff, ceasing the bounce in her step as she stood straight almost as if trying to dominate the situation. However she only appeared more like a defiant child, but either way, it was clear that she wasn't about to leave any time soon. "Since when were you ever concerned with risks? I mean, what's the 'big risk' when we're dyin' a lot out there anyway? 'Cause I doubt death is one'a them. Plus, you said it yourself; It should be possible, so what’s there left to think about?" Striding over to him, she gave the notebook an impatient little tap to make sure she still had his attention before she continued on her little spiel.
"We're gettin' slaughtered out there!-" There was a vague gesture to the door. "-We need every advantage we can get." There was a quiet pause as she considered her next choice of words; Eyes quickly lighting up as the hints of a grin tugged at the corners of her mouth.
"... Unless, you're afraid you just can't do it. Who knows, maybe the whole uberin' thing was just a lucky break on your part."
