So there's this really obscure book I talk about on here sometimes. It's called Harrow the Ninth, I don't know if you've heard of it
hey, re: meer and ornge, I've definitely heard those from people from the Midwest. not sure I've heard whore movie tho...
@cloudyhorizons @sooptea
Huh wild???? I thought I had my bases covered living in nc with ny and fl and nj and ca relatives but I guess I don’t really have much experience with Midwestern accents. I say “meer-er” and “or-ange” and “hore-er”
also @ anon British people say “skwi-rel” I believe
#19 “I can’t stay away from you.” for bluesey ? *eyes emoji*
oh hey i still have this sitting! sorry if this is written in an odd cadence, i binged all of derry girls in like 24 hours.
~~~
“I can’t stay away from you,” Blue said, her tone suddenly no longer light.
They’d been teasing each other, late at night on the phone as always. Blue had teased Gansey about his nerding out about his history professor, and Gansey had teased her right back about the environmental group she’d joined (and subsequently talked Gansey’s ear off about).
But then Gansey had teased that Blue would be lured away by her fancy new college friends and forget about him and she had immediately known they’d gone too far.
He didn’t reply.
“I mean it. I can’t.”
“Jane,” Gansey started, his tone one of placation and not reassured as she wanted. Needed.
“Gansey, don’t. I’m not joking.”
“I know,” he said, his voice small.
Obviously, she didn’t believe him. She knew Gansey was self-conscious, afraid at all times of being left behind. Of her and their friends forgetting about him, moving on. It sounded like those doubts were particularly strong tonight.
And she wasn’t having it.
“I don’t think you do. I love my friends and everything here but I’m not gonna ever leave you for them. I love you. With my whole heart. You’re my literal soulmate, Gans. That’s not an option.”
He was silent for a long moment.
“I know, Jane. I love you, too. I was just… I don’t know.”
“I just wanna make sure,” Blue said softly. “No matter what, you’re stuck with me, Richard Gansey.”
Gansey chuckled. “I think you’ll find that it’s you who’s stuck with me, Blue Sargent.”
Blue grinned, she’d take that. “Let’s call it a mutual stuckness, then. Stuck with each other. Pretty good deal from where I’m looking at it.”
“Love you,” Gansey said. She could hear the smile in his voice.
“Love you, too.”
oooh how about 39 & 40 for the handwriting ask ?
thanks dima!!
in another post discussing leaking t shots, you guys said it was usually a very small amount of the dose that gets "lost". I've had leakage before, but today's shot was a LOT more leakage than normal, plus a lot of bleeding (needed tissues eep) I'm due for blood work in one week after today's shot... will the higher leakage skew my blood work significantly ? should I wait til I've done a "cleaner" injection ? (I'm 15 months on t if that helps) thanks for ur help !
(as a follow up to my ask it's totally fine if you can't reply in a week, I'm trying to get ahold of my doctor too but he's hard to reach sometimes :/ ) thanks again !
Our queue is running about a month (give or take) out, which is one of the reasons we say “we don’t handle urgent asks” (so you probably sent this ask in aobout 4-5 weeks ago)We can’t say how much “a lot” is, (in terms of leaking) or in terms of bleeding (because what seems like “a lot” to most laypeople is still an insignificant amount to medical people). I wasn’t there, I didn’t see it. That’s one of the reasons why we can’t give specific advice about that. You did the right thing: calling your doctor and asking what they prefer you to do. it’s exactly what we would have advised others to do in that situation. There’s a chance that the leaking was insignificant, and your values wouldn’t be altered much, or that the leaking was enough to drop your levels. Either way, if your values were wonky, you can always let the doctor know that you’d like to retest with a better shot, if you feel like there’s a reason that you don’t think that the test reflects a typical blood level for you (” I was on vacation so I took my dose late, I forgot/ chose not to bring it with me” or “I ran out and didn’t have enough to give my whole dose, insurance issues getting it filled” are pretty common reasons mine ends up low after almost 10 years, but my doctor doesn’t get excited, I just retest in about 3 months and it’s back where it should be).
don’t stress it.
Fanfic Rec #10 Alexei "Tater" Mashkov/Kent "Parse" Parson (Check Please!)
One time Tater’s cat needed veterinary care (and 5 times she didn’t) by ricekrispyjoints Nine years ago, if someone had told Kent Parson that he would attend eight years of school and become a veterinarian instead of a professional hockey player, he would have called them delusional. But here he is at a small clinic in Providence, fresh out of vet school and ready to start the next chapter of his life. And then in walks one Russian NHL player who seems to be having a lot of problems with his cat...
the only happiness by Potrix It takes less than a week for Kent to snap. He’d expected to get some extra attention during the off-season, given Jack’s little stunt after winning the Cup, but even after over half a decade in the NHL, he’d been completely taken aback by the sheer intensity of the entirety of the hockey media descending on him. Getting drafted first overall didn’t hold a candle to being the former best friend of the league’s first openly queer player, apparently.
Here We Are, Two Strangers by CoffeeStars Alternatively, “Kent and Alexei’s Guide on How to Screw Around and (Not) Talk about Feelings” The year in which Kent Parson, famous NHL player and renowned (read: lonely) party animal, reads trashy erotic novels, fails to learn Russian from Alexei’s mom through elaborate contemporary dance, co-adopts a dog, and fucks his way into domesticity and, surprisingly, a functional relationship.
I’m Not Sorry (if i’m breaking walls down) by Idday Kent probably shouldn't be so surprised that his daughter is obsessed with hockey, and a Zimmermann. In that order.Apparently some things just run in the family.
Stay by orphan_account It's not actually because of Jack, but Kent would rather people just assume. At least until he runs into Mashkov after the game. But when he's invited for a beer instead of a beating, Kent realises things are about to change.
@ricekrispyjoints, thank you for bringing me into this fandom and always entertaining my weird ideas. love you bro
