Hii!! I was wondering how the whole "Sherlock comes from old money" thing started. I was thinking about the scenes with his parents and realized that there wasn't really anything, at least that I saw, to suggest that theory. That said, I honestly think it's more context clues more than anything? I am not 100% sure if it is canon, but clues more about the kind of property Sherlock's lives on, the clothes he wears, the fact that he can pursue a "job" that seemingly doesn't always pay, and his brother's high position in the government (and possible spy agency) and the fact that Sherlock can pretty much get away with anything by having someone "fix it" for him is – for lack of better description – "shit rich people do".

It's also one of my fave fan-theories too, but I also personally believe it's canon in BBC Sherlock at least (again, don't know if it's actual canon but seems the context clues are there as well).
