Richard Carrow (16 march 1934 —  30 june 1991)

Son of Prospero Carrow and Morvoren Carrow (née Travers), brother of Amelia Burke (née Carrow) and Oberon Carrow. Richard could be described as callous, egocentric, and unself-critical person. He was sorted in Slytherin just like his siblings. Richard was a meticulous student who always came prepared, and therefore he graduated Hogwarts passing every exam with an “Outstanding” mark. He also was a Head Boy in 1949 and 1950.

Despite the fact, that he seemed perfect from outside, on the inside Richard was turning more and more brutal. Richard Carrow had been working as a legislator in the Ministry of Magic, being respected by other wizards and witches, who knew nothing of his true nature. He was so easily irritated, especially when someone was pointing out his flaws. Richard grew used to wearing this mask, having people think he was a good person, however the truth was very far from that. His wife, Fillis Nott, has been hardest hit, because their relationship slowly turned from sincere affection to unstopping violence, and she didn’t have a way out.

 Richard and Fillis had two children: Amycus and Alecto Carrow, who, growing in this family, became violent and cruel themselves, later even joining Voldemort as Death Eaters.

there's a post in my drafts which is focusing on this particular couple, i'll try to summarize their dynamic there. for now i can say that it was mostly emotional manipulation driven by his aggressiveness and by his thirst for power even in personal relationships.
