THE MOSQUITO HUNTER: BU TODAY FEATURES PROF. POLLACK
Professor Richard Pollack is featured catching research specimens from the depths of a local swamp in the BU Today video and article, "The Mosquito Hunter." Prof. Pollack, an epidemiologist, and a research associate professor at BU, plays an active role at the Frederick S. Pardee Center For the Study of the Longer-Range Future. He spoke at the Pardee House Seminar, Invasive Species and Future Ecologies: Bugs, Viruses, Mussels, and Weeds. Prof. Pollack is also a Co-Principle Director of the Rockefeller funded Maize and Malaria project along with the Pardee Center Director, ad interim, James McCann. A forthcoming documentary short on the Maize and Malaria project will be available soon on the Pardee Center Multimedia 2012 Archive. In the wake of the Pardee Center gaming session, Games for a New Climate, Prof. Pollack is also advising the Pardee Center in the construction of a board game based on the Maize and Malaria research.
