“Wake up!” with Johnny and Bubba, for the writing meme!
They had been waiting for the perfect moment to give Cundalini the revenge he deserved outside the old farmhouse. Mudguts, Diabando, and Bubba Zanetti took turns on lookout. Johnny dozed fitfully on grass in the noon heat. Images of fire and needles flashed behind his eyes. The bronze’s melting, screaming face was branded like burning iron into his mind.
“Wake up,” was harshly whispered into the boy’s ear. Johnny awoke to Bubba shaking his arm. He must have started to cry out in his sleep and put the gang in danger of being found out. Bubba seemed to be the only one that took notice or even cared about the boy.
