coline   letemplier,  one  person  within  the  company  he  knew  no  matter  what  he  did,  it  would  never  be  good  enough.  admittedly,  she’s  known  of  his  rebellious  years  and  the  consequences  which  came  with  that  and  there  was  no  doubt  that  he  had  been  given  many  passes  for  things  others  would  never  get  away  with.  now,  his  father’s  business  is  going  through  a  whole  new  shake  up  in  hopes  of  boosting  their  already  successful  business,  new  contracts  and  people  to  work  with  which  now  came  with  an  opening  which  he  knew  she  wanted,  yet  there  was  an  unspoken  promise  that  he  was  sure  to  get  it.  so,  of  course,  stumbling  across  her  he  can’t  help  but  let  his  opinion  have  free  reign,  but  true  enough   —  he  knew  now  shouldn’t  be  the  time  yet  he  just  can’t  help  himself.  hands  lock  behind  his  back  as  arms  hang  low,  lips  inching  into  a  subtle  grin  and  it  doesn’t  take  long  for  his  sarcasm  to  come  out  full  on.  ❛  how  is  everything?  a  little  birdie  MIGHT  have  told  me  you  were  unhappy  about  a  few  things?  now  come  on,  you  know  you  can  tell  me  whatever  is  going  on  in  that  mind  of  yours.  ❜

carolina didn’t even realize that she had been holding her breath until she stood directly in front of his door. she isn’t exactly sure why she’s so nervous about this ━ this is her older brother, after all. he’s practically family. maybe it’s due to the fact that the two haven’t spoken in nearly a year, maybe it’s due to the fact that the siblings didn’t have the best relationship in the world. she and her brother, quentin, were polar opposites in every sense of the world ━ hence the two often bumping heads or maybe it’s the shame she feels over having to ask quentin for help. she already knows what he’ll probably say. told you so, care ━ in that annoyingly smug tone of his. he never believed her dreams of music would take her far and neither did their parents, hence why they finally kicked the girl out when she failed to keep a real job. and as much as carolina didn’t want to hear his mouth, she truly had nowhere else to go. two hesitant knocks on the door soon followed and the honey blonde chewed on her bottom lip out of anticipation, silently hoping that he wasn’t there. but the door opened soon enough and the girl stood there for a moment. “uh...,” she trailed off, finally finding the courage to speak, “hey, q. long time no see, huh?”

the lying was beginning to get out of hand. lottie could no longer remember what was her truth and the false statements she’d tell her boyfriend. it started with one tiny item here and there but it’s soon grown to become a bigger web than she could imagine. standing in the wreck of his apartment, this had to be the fourth break-in berend’s experienced this month. the brunette knew what the burglars were after and she’s been thankful that he hasn’t been harmed. however, the thought always crawled into her mind about what if they did came to cause berend harm? at that point, she would have no choice but to tell him the truth. but for now, she would keep playing the innocent card. "i’m sure insurance would help to cover for this. at least they didn’t take anything of value this time, right?” lottie questioned, knowing full well that nothing had been taken but there was more damage caused this time around.
