Helen’s pregnancy + birth headcanons (since I believe that Timmy is Richard and Helen’s biological son)
She got a special maternity outfit: a white and turquoise floral tank top, white maxi skirt, grey sneakers, a silver necklace with the Pisces symbol on it (Timmy’s zodiac sign), pearl earrings and silver rings, and from week 19, a light blue hair ribbon that has the words ‘il est un garçon !’ (it’s a boy!) on it
Timmy was born via c-section (like his parents)
After the gender reveal, Helen often put a radio on her belly and play ‘Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)’ by John Lennon to Timmy in the womb
She DEVOURED baked goods
Helen was really scared during labour; she had to have knives and needles near and also she had contractions
To calm Helen down during labour; Angie brought some vinyls and a vinyl player to the hospital (Abba’s Voulez-Vous album and The Beatles’ Abbey Road album). She also brought Helen’s Walkman.
During her C-Section, Helen listened to Madonna’s album True Blue on her Walkman
When Timmy was born, his cries were super loud (~85dB)
Helen and Angie cried tears of happiness when he was born
The expecting parents thrifted a bunch of vintage baby boy clothes
They made Timmy’s nursery zoo themed
He was born at 1am so everyone (especially Helen) was exhausted when the (new!) family got home
At 17 weeks, Helen cut off 25cm (~9.82”) of her hair to try out a different hair length. She still has this hair length to this very day
Timmy was named after Timothy Q. Mouse from Dumbo (the family LOVES vintage Disney, especially that movie) + they loved timothy plants
Richard, her, and Angie all frequently talked to Timmy in the womb, and felt his movements
She would occasionally have mood swings
the richlen spotify playlist!!
You may have seen that one of my richlen headcanons was that they would have a couple playlist. I made this to represent what the playlist would look like and what songs Richard and Helen would put on there.
I had a lot of fun making this!
Here it is below:
Richlen headcanons <3
(Richlen is the ship name I give to Timmy’s parents, Richard and Helen)
They have a shared couple Spotify playlist where they put songs that remind them of their relationship
They text each other all of the time
Helen was the reason Richard got out of his teenage depression
They met at a disabled summer camp
Helen was the one that first suggested they start a romantic relationship
Their wedding was in Helen’s hometown, Paris
Their honeymoon was in Tahiti
They give each other cute and silly nicknames (honeybun, babycakes, hubby/wifey, sweetie, cutie)
Richard occasionally glams up Helen (does her hair, paints her nails, cuts her hair, etc)
Helen taught Richard how to French kiss
Their love languages are physical touch, lovely words and homemade gifts
They love to bake together
They watch David Attenborough documentaries together
They sometimes slow dance to music in their bedroom
They both make super heartfelt instagram posts about each other
Helen sleeps on the left side of the bed, Richard on the right
Richard was extra supportive of Helen during her pregnancy
They would occasionally argue but resolve their arguments quickly
They treat Timmy like a little prince
They snuggle up next to each other on the couch and in bed
Biography
Hello there,
My name is Brad Richlen. I was born April 28th, 1989 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee, but grew up in Franklin, a suburb about 20 minutes South West of the city. Throughout my childhood I consumed a wide variety of classic (as well as contemporary) cartoons, videogames, and other cultural artifacts that my older brothers would introduce me to, and which I can now see shaping my own personal aesthetic and subject matter in my works. Currently I am a Graphic Design student at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and intend to pursue minors in English and Art History; prior to switching to Graphic Design, I had been an English major. I still try to read as much as possible for enjoyment on my own time and feel that this discipline has definitely helped strengthen my written and verbal articulation skills.
I work at the Union Marketing Services on campus as a Design Assistant. I have begun designing some things here and there but for the most part handle large format prints and mounting jobs, as well as maintaining the design center and hanging banners in the atrium and “gold frame” posters throughout the Student Union. I also do a bit of freelance illustration work on the side and am always trying to find new projects to add to my professional portfolio; in fact I just sent the final print proof out for a coloring and activity book featuring Action Law Offices of Wauwatosa’s “Safety Bear” character I made over the course of the summer, meant to teach children about traffic safety on the roads. I am always trying to experience as much (worthy) cultural capital as possible in order to better understand the world that surrounds me and develop my personal sense of taste and style in terms of design.
Cheers,
Brad
