Saw two awesome folk singer-songwriters last night. Alasdair Roberts (who I think I’ve raved about on Twitter before) supported by Rick Redbeard (who I hadn’t heard of, but his songwriting and voice are super melancholy and beautiful).

I don’t think there’s anything more inspiring for a musician than watching someone who’s really, really good at an instrument you’re kind of good with and want to get better at. Tim made us sit in the front row which meant I could watch their fingers on the strings, which was a treat. Always gonna do that for acoustic guitarists from now on if I can.

Aye eh.  Netsounds & Mad Hatters presented a Gerry Loves Records showcase up those stairs on Tuesday !!  I have to say I was hugely disappointed.  Not one photograph of Jamie Netsounds flipping me the bird or gesticulating with the V’s !!  It’s practically a tradition at Netsounds events so I’m rather gutted.

Oh don’t worry about the music – that was fucking stupendous even though the turnout was…

On Saturday 7th December, we took 100 people on a Wee Jaunt around the west end of Glasgow. People were only told a place to meet, and to dress warm. Nothing else. 

It was cold, wet and muddy under foot - but we put on some of Scotland's best bands in some incredible locations. 

This is what happened.
