Mr. Feehan: Given that yesterday I asked a serious question about a corporation board member being named in a $25 million lawsuit alleging racism and sexual harassment at Indian Oil and Gas Canada and given that one of the claims in that lawsuit was that the plaintiff was denied a promotion because she rejected sexual advances of the CEO and given that the AIOC board member named in the lawsuit still sits on the board, can the minister inform this House if he’s concerned about these allegations against this board member and whether he has launched any internal investigation to determine if these serious allegations are occluded in the . . .

Mr. Wilson: Well, thank you, Mr. Speaker. I do take these things seriously. I have three daughters of my own and three granddaughters, so this is a very serious subject to me. We made sure that the AIOC has a code of conduct, and the alleged incident did not even occur at the AIOC. It’s up to the board chair to determine if anyone is noncompliant with that code of conduct.

Here are her questions

1.  What scares you?

This space is too small to count them all, right now.

2.  This will date me - what, if any, name do you give to somebody who’s tried to pick you up in a bar or elsewhere (assuming you’re not interested) (I know you young folks have apps for this).  I called myself “Pam” but my friend, Jeanne, was “Jolene” after a Dolly Parton song of the same name.  I loved that.

Julia, I guess, for no particular reason except that it’s one of my favourite names.

3.  Have you ever had to call the cops?

Thankfully not. *knock on wood*

4.  Are you allergic to anything?  (I really am interested as I developed allergies as an adult).

I don’t think so for the moment nor even if I can call them allergies, but I seem to have developed brief negative reactions towards seafood, pizza, and nutella. (I’ve gotten over the first two after some years, still not sure about the latter).

5.  Most of you are writers, but have you ever written a letter to the editor or elected official?

Not exactly, but I once wrote to a cable channel because they changed the Gilmore Girls schedule to a time I could no longer watch it and to a store because there was a special event and the organisation was a mess from top to bottom. 

6.  Have you ever been in a physical fight?

Yes. Some skirmishes with my brother and one with a girl in school where she ‘stabbed’ my arm with a pen. I had the scar for a long time.

7.  Did you pursue/realize any goals or dreams you had as a child?

My goals and dreams have changed over the years, so it’s complicated to say. I guess, I could include driving, for instance, but there are some other things that when they took place it seemed like I had outgrown them, like going to Disneyland. When I finally did so, I felt a bit ridiculous and that I wasn’t supposed to be there. 

8.  Can you juggle?

I can’t and it’s probably best I don’t even attempt it. I’m rather clumsy so I might injure someone, myself, or break something.

9.  Will you be doing any international travel in the next year?

It’s being planned but I haven’t been that excited about it, to be honest, and I don’t even know why.

10.  Who gave you the best life advice?

I’ve learnt them all from TV Shows. Now, in earnest, I don’t know what to say because so far I’ve never had a moment that felt like ‘take note - this is life advice’.

11.  Were you a young, single person in 1920s Melbourne and Detective Jack Robinson asked you on a date, what would you want to do, where would you want to go (before the obvious Jack-in-the-sack end of a perfect evening)?

I think I’d like to have dinner and go to a jazz club afterwards. It seems like it could be fun and the company would certainly be divine althought it might be a bit awkward at first because, like Jack, I’m not someone very expansive, particularly when I meet new people. :D

Everything that catches my eye, basically. Other TV shows I like, celebrities I’m fond of, fashion, books, quotes, beautiful houses and other things that draw my attention.

4) What do you plan on buying yourself this Christmas?

I have no idea. I’ll probably end up spending some money on books as one like me  does. 

5) If you can have one wish (in general, not for Christmas), what would it be?

Get myself and my life together.  Does this count as 2 wishes?

6) What’s your favorite dish to make?

My cooking skills are rather limited, but I’d say salads. I love eatiing them and mixing up the ingredients.

7) What was the last movie you saw (in the theatre or on TV)?

Crimson Peak in the theatre, I think.

8) Have you found your soulmate?

Not yet (if it ever happens).

9) Do you believe in ghosts?

I don’t think so. Yet, it’s not something I devote much thought to, to be honest.

10) If the zombie apocalypse occurs tomorrow, would you fight hard to stay alive or accept your fate and surrender your life?

Maybe the anxiety over the whole thing would kill me first.

That I can amuse myself easily if I have books around, I guess, off the top of my head.
