I had this corkboard since middle school, and it originally had a bunch of sun fading in obvious patterns from where I originally had things pinned. I hung it and put up some of my jewelry, but it looked kind of sad, so I decided to cover it with fabric, and put rickrack in between some of the sections. I think I like how it turned out. I'd been saving that top fabric a while, it reminds me of the type of vinyl you'd see on the cushions of some rusty kitchen chairs from the 70s, likely with cracks and stains. Or an oilcloth tablecloth.
