Feeling kind of sulky. My OCs want me to draw them and I'm not quick enough to keep up. I guess I'll just draw what I have time for as of now and go to bed.
No. Seriously. I have over 50 different muses, characters, and it's exhausting. And as someone who wants to write, having no time to do so because of school and laziness and other artistic needs (not urges, needs), is enough to put me in a really bad mood. A good thing happened though; another character, Rickrad, casually revealed to me that he's genderqueer - feeling somewhere between his MAAB status and existing outside of gender, effectively neither man nor woman. He's fine with the "he" pronoun though. I'll probably have his closer friends use gender-neutral pronouns just to remind the audience of it properly, though.
And there's Damek, who graciously offered themselves to be all of the genders (is that called omni-gender? pangender? need to study), in place of Xergius. The more I thought about it the more it made sense, so I'm happy about that. More representation, and Damek gets a nice, less stereotypical trait. It also makes their relationship with Kaun (a woman) not straight. Kaun is enthusiastic about it. Woop-woop representation!
I'm still unhappy about having to kill Xergius. He's the ONLY character who dies on-screen in the story, so I didn't want to make him part of any marginalized group unless there was another important character he could share the trait with. Like, he's Asian and asexual, but it should be fine because there are more Asians than just him, and my main character is also an Ace and she's infinitely more vocal about it than he is.... Still, Xergius has grown on me as a character, he's quite lovely, the snide, clever little man. But his death is important. But so ruthless. And Damek, his best friend, HATES me for it. Because while Xergius gets to do lots of important things, he dies because the villian murders him when he's coming to close to revealing secrets and converting the others to the side of good.
gif credit to her!
He keeps staring, hahaha.
