Gut Reaction: Riddle Room

Rating: 5/10

Streaming From: Tubi

The end was surprisingly good, but it didn’t quite justify the movie’s awkward pacing up to that point. The suspension of disbelief had to be a little high, but the loose ends did tie together ultimately, and it ended on a good note.

Everything leading up to that point is fairly bland, however, and not as scary as would be ideal. The premise was interesting, but needed stronger characters and more tension to really carry the story.

Worth a watch if you’re running out of things to stream for free.

Nigma reforms so early into Batman's career that he and Catwoman still have yet to learn each other's secret identities. It's Selena who suggests that the two of them go to Nigma's Riddle Room on a date, to which Bruce feigns some mild hesitation. He's been meaning to check in on Nigma for a while now anyways.

A still licenced and pre-villain Jervis Tetch is doing a study on escape room participants at the time. Tetch and Nigma watch as Bruce and Selena flirt with each trying to hide their true brilliance from the other and each pretending to just get lucky with the puzzle solutions.

After a time both Nigma and Tetch get somewhat annoyed with the constant flirting between the two. Tetch figures out that the couple are smarter than they're each letting on. Nigma tells them over the speaker to get a room if they're going to be doing this much foreplay. "But not this one. You promised you wouldn't with the form you both signed."
