Ellyse Perry Gives Perfect Response to Indian Star Murali Vijay's Remark
After Indian cricket star Murali Vijay said he considered the all-rounder "beautiful" Ellyse Perry issued a cheeky reply. Perry, who was part of this year's winning T20 World Cup squad in Australia but skipped the semi-final and final with a hamstring injury, caught Vijay's eye. Last month, Vijay was questioned during an interview on Instagram Live which two cricketers he would like to have dinner with. And I feel more settled … there's this lovely shared sense of what we want to achieve together," Perry told. "Ironic isn't it, that caring a little less, and being more relaxed and trusting of my ability, has helped me improve." Perry was named one of Wisden's Five Cricketers of the Decade last year – along with Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Dale Steyn and AB de Villiers – and is widely considered as the most experienced women's cricket all-rounder. At 2019 ICC Cricket Awards, the 29-year-old was also named Women's Cricketer of the Year. She has represented Australia in all formats on 240 occasions, taking 297 wickets, and scoring 4864 runs since her global teenage debut in 2007.
