Happy STS! :D How do your characters perceive each other? If they’re friends, what do they like about having them as a friend? If they’re enemies, what makes them enemies from their perspective?

this is a very interesting question.

i guess evelyn thinks of ariel as a friend but she thinks that ariel is a closer friend to her than she is to them, because ariel is much more outgoing and evelyn tends to see friendship as a much more serious commitment than most people do. she just invests much more emotionally. i know that sounds impossible considering that she left ariel on read for months at the beginning of HOS but that actually makes a lot of sense because evelyn tries super hard not to be clingy and with her depression she thought "they don't care about me like that anyway" and also she was deeply ashamed of not keeping in contact in a way most people do, so this was simply an avoidance thing on her part to spare herself more negative emotions. that being said, she thinks of ariel quite highly, but also feels a bit protective of them (because they sometimes make bad decisions, see mare and fire salamander incidents), and since she is actually the physical badass between the two, she is the one who constantly raises eyebrows x) but yeah, she loves ariel wholeheartedly, platonically. maybe one day she even won't feel as insecure anymore about what ariel thinks of her

oppsoite to what evelyn thinks, ariel thinks of evelyn as a very close friend as well, definitely much closer than any of their other friends of which they don't actually have many, because who wants to be friends with a curse-broker with bad google reviews? they think that evelyn is absolutely brilliant at what she does and probably thinks evelyn to be more intelligent than she is. ariel values evelyn as a friend because they don't have to pretend to be someone else with them, she doesn't get annoyed and is a soft and caring person, very calm, which is just the kind of friend ariel needs. also they have fun dragging her along so she comes out of her shell more and there's definitely nothing better than making her smile! it's just that ariel thinks they're a bit annoying and they are secretly convinced that one day they'll be too much for evelyn and their friendship will fall apart

so are the two platonically pining for each other?

Happy STS! :D If your OCs could have powers from one of the infinity stones, what kind of power would they have? There is the space, mind, reality, power, time, and soul stone! Feel free to interpret what kind of powers each stone could grant! (Q. inspired by WandaVision!)

Daliah would want a time stone.

Lynx would be difficult - maybe reality so that he could bend reality somehow to be human again?

Deucate would want the soul stone, maybe, to help her soul turn to a form that allows her to be a day-witch! (this would never work, obviously!)

Kaya would want the mind stone in hopes it helps them to remember their past!

Anton would want the power stone, perhaps. If he got stronger, maybe he would lose his fear of heights?

Merle would want the power stone as well. If she was stronger, she’d have an easier time to eat humans and get revenge! Or something like that. (This would also not work for the fact that mermaids eat fish and algae only! Merle is only somewhat aware of this!)

And Death. Well. Maybe the soul stone? To use it to show him souls of sad people? So he could understand what sadness was like. Though he already has seen plenty of sad souls. He could not manipulate his own though. Hm. Maybe he would just get the space stone and randomly teleport the bunch to different places, just to mess with them. This could turn out helpful?

Celebration ask! ^.^ How do you come up with your magic systems? Do you gravitate toward certain elements or structures? (also I'm gonna pm you a magic system related q because I'm not sure if it's a spoiler! But I have been curious about it in regards to TAP! But feel free to answer it here if not)

I think most of the times, I come up with an image first. For example with TAP’s magic system, I first had the image of blue crystals in my head and once I wrote, I gravitated more towards details and explanations for it. For The Five Senses, I first created the sense of Touch and its rules on purpose, because initially, I only needed it for a oneshot. But then the rest just felt super obvious and felt right? With Invincible, I just had the goal to make a very complex magic system with the image of the Collector & Runes in mind. I kept it the much shorter in the story, but that was just my wish to create something complicated haha xD

Maybe I gravitate towards nature related elements the most? Even for the very small magic systems that I only create for short stories, I usually keep it close to nature because that’s just what I enjoy most. Yup ^^

I got tagged by @unfortunatelyunfocused and @thewalkingnerdx, thank you two very much! Here is a snippet line from Invincible. Jeanne calls Ahn one evening and they... call a truce? I cut the spoiler out though.

“I can’t sleep, Ahn”, she said, her voice too high pitched. Ahn didn’t know what to say but the sadness in the other’s voice tore at her heart. Evil? Jeanne? Crying Jeanne?

 “I am so sorry I shouldn’t bother you, I am sorry”, the muffled voice appeared in the phone again.

 “No, no it’s okay. I am here for you”, Ahn replied out of reflex and as she spoke her own voice was cracking too. Mira took her hand, patiently waiting until she would tell her what happened. “Why can’t you sleep?”, she asked quietly and ignored the irritated looks on Mira and Eymen’s face.

 “I – I am afraid.” A sob. “Are you really believing me now? [...]” Her voice was shaking so bad, the beeping hospital machines in the background went a little faster now. “I am so afraid he will look for me.” A gasp. “I am so scared, Ahn. And I am so sorry.”

Ahn couldn’t help herself anymore and now tears were running down her face as well.

 “I am sorry too, Jeanne”, she cried into her phone and took a deep breath. “Let’s work together then yes? Please let’s just focus on this one thing.”

 “Yes. But I still will never forgive you”, Jeanne sobbed. Ahn started to laugh out loud over her own tears.

 “That’s fine, I will never forgive you either.”
