To answer your question – I don't think L would have ONE particular fond memory of Rie, more like a series of snapshots. A photo album of memories if you will haha. Small things, like Rie bringing him a plate of cake as he works and kissing his cheek. I think he'd treasure those small moments the most.

And I like to think Rie & L have a lot of those small moments. Even though the big things in their life tend to go badly, they get those little things in their life to enjoy. For a little while.

when Rie and L fight their respective trump cards (for most arguments) are "you lie about everything/I don't know who you are" and "because I love you/it's too dangerous". they both use these to their advantage a bit too often to be justified.

you guys know the death note the musical song We All Need a Hero or whatever the translated title is? idk if I'm remembering correctly but I feel like it cuts to L after it ends? well, we'll pretend it does for this.

I've been thinking, Rie and L looking at a computer as the song comes to a close, and Rie heads to exit, shaking her head at something L has said before turning back and singing just the one line –

Rie: My personal hero...

L: Don't be silly.

Rie: Alright.

L: ...Good-night.

That's it. It feels very sweet to me, so I wanted to share.
