yeah I don't know, man. it just baffles me bc it's the same people that I see making a huge fuss about it not only in the pateod fandom but in others too. like cmon let's not with the white people for blatantly poc characters. it's not THAT hard.

Exactly! This is why tumblrs like fancasting-help exist, but there are also so many others that you can use for reference like modelsofcolor. And in the end it really is not that hard to google things.

It's mostly when Raffe is cast as white that I get really bothered. Admittedly I was totally guilty of this like a year ago. Only because it literally says he has tawny/caramel/dark skin. At least with Penryn, the only markers are that she lives in California which has one of the highest asian populationsin the country, she had "midnight" hair and eyes, and high cheekbones. Obviously, the fancasts for her tend to be white more because people have white set as the default in their brains rather than ignorance.

I do like though that our fandom is really pretty good about this issue and lately (though it may be the edit drought we've been having) most edits have featured people of color in the edits which makes me happy for the most part.

YES EXACTLY like if you obviously understand that the character is more than some weirdly super tan white person and is a person of color why not fancast them that way? What really just bugs me the most is when people say something along the lines of "but it's so hard to find poc actors to fancast". Because a) it's not that hard if you do a little research, but you do have to actually try and b) that's kind of the problem here. There's little to no representation out there and it would be awesome to see more of it.

i checked twcedit and it turns out to be teen wolf cast edit HAHA oops should we do like winnersedit or sth? i'm all about acronyms, too! and i hate apostrophes in real tags (instead of rag rants u kno)

i just can't think of anything besides kestrin? but yess!! let's grow our fandom!
