Shu and Sophie
Though sharing a common language, Shu and Sophie face a lot of perplexity over the different sayings and conjugations that American English and British English provide. It goes beyond the mishaps of what a "rubber" means or which "pants" they are referring to, but the idioms made the seamstress pause in their communications. Given her curiosity, she sat down with the man, pulling out her pocketbook and pencil from her skirt. Row by row, she has an onslaught of questions for Shu as he lights a cigarette, prepared for the longest two hours of his life. If he tries ending the topic before she is satisfied, she would interject and tap the booklet, telling him that it would not take much longer.
While Shu is annoyed by Crow, Sophie has a higher tolerance for his personality. This revelation chuffs Crow that he so takes a woman, but she is very forward in expressing how much he reminds him of someone (read: her youngest sister) she helped raise. The hired man does not comment on the subject, but he is not exactly hiding his amusement over Crow's dejection. Meanwhile, the seamstress grows confused over how Crow shuffles away and proceeds to hide in his office.
Outside of her traditional expertise in textiles, Sophie takes any opportunity to try herself in new crafts. When Shu showed up one day with plain hair pins pushing his fringes from his face, the woman tapped her chin with her index finger, her mind beginning to piece together a new opportunity to try something. Much to Shu's confusion, though he feigns indifference, he finds himself with a growing collection of themed hairpins. The latest pair was inspired by Teuta's story of the group's newly adopted cat. It was molded and hand-painted by the seamstress. This pair has also gotten some popularity in the group, considering that Teuta would like a pair herself.
Greasy foods do not agree with Miss Hatter's stomach. It is not without reason that any dining experience with the team results in her joining them, but not dining alongside them. Especially with the amount of pizza consumed regularly, she refrains from being counted in for a plate. However, she does put her part in paying for the delivery, which Shu and the others agree is far more than she should do. However, if given a plate of food outright, and someone begs, Sophie's self-guilt gets the better of her. She will hesitantly eat as much as she can, trying to clean the plate. Shu carries extra of her antacid medication, per her request, in these types of emergencies so that she can avoid making a "scene."
