POSE BREAKDOWN WITH ARNOLD LIGHTING
RIGGING
The steps taken to add the rigging for this character were the following:
Adding Joints: It was fairly easy to understand where the joints should be located. However I did mess up with the centre of gravity placing it on the ground rather than the core.
Adding Controls: The centre of gravity control was changed to the Large square on the back of the model.
Adding Constraints and Locators: Part of this process has been a learning curve. Especially when assigning controls to the knees and elbows. Adding constraints to these joints was a bit messy for me. The Constraint I used was Poli Vector, seems simple and easier to use.
Binding the skin: Just a click away.
Paint Skin Weights: Images 4 and 5 show a small taste of the catastrophe I had to deal with Painting Skin weights. I blame the model. But glad this was sorted in the end by deleting the too many vertices in the model that were absolutely useless.
