I hardly thought I’d make it this far but... here I am! It’s my 17th birthday!

For this year’s birthday art, I thought what better way to celebrate it than to do a Heathers reference! It’s thematically appropriate with how many times the age is mentioned in the musical, after all.

There's nothing necessarily wrong with a family dinner. She loves her father more than anything, and has over the years grown to the love the woman who makes him so happy. The food is always wonderful, the mood light, but Nora always seems to end up lost in her own head, worrying about the 'perfect family' expectations she can't meet. It's no secret she and Venus aren't the close knit sisters their parents would have loved for them to be, and though her father would never say it, Nora can't help but think sometimes he's a little disappointed — that she couldn't make this work, that she isn't more outgoing or charming. Conversation doesn't come easy to her, as much is obvious from the nervous tapping of her fingertips against her glass as they wait for their parents to return.

"So... How's work? Many people getting married lately?" She cringes, looking away.

Congratulations on surviving another year! I decided to draw the baguette-wielding raccoon for this occasion! I hope you enjoy it!

I used a picture of Blossom from PPG Z as inspiration for the pose. I mostly just added the baguette. I’m pretty pleased with the results, personally. I’m a little worried about Vil and the baguette though...

To whoever’s reading this right now: good job for surviving another year alive. I know it isn’t always easy, but you held on. And now look, you’re here, still breathing and able to read this post. I want you to give yourself a pat on the back for staying alive, you deserve it!

Suprise! This was what I was working on as a sort of gift for my mutuals and the reason I asked questions about height and stuff. I hope everyone likes it.

Random commentary time: The flower Percy has on him is Poinsettia. I drew him with that because the flower is indigenous to Mexico and he’s half Mexican (don’t question my logic). He’s also holding a Mistletoe. Meanwhile, I have a Holly and Laurent has a Christmas Rose. Everyone is actually drawn roughly to scale. Congratulations Via, you’re the tallest among a bunch of shortie short shortcakes!
