I haven't finished the book but The Shining movie did Jack Torrence so fucking dirty. It's like they didn't even know the story, like they were given the synopsis for it and slapped some shit together calling it a day
#he was such a loving and doting hisband and father until he became a drunk.#then he fell pray to addiction and became a horrible fucking monster#breaking dannys arm??#unforgivable.#but trying to overcome his addiction after hitting his rock bottom#quitting cold turkey and doing his best to make up for all he had done. living in guilt of his actions#rightfully so...#then he beats this guy near death and loses his job#taking up this job at the hotel#thinking it would actually make a difference#the damn place feeding his addiction keeping him under its thumb#fucking DYING#being brought back as a fucking puppet for the place to use#only coming back when Danny yells that the ghosts arent him#ack#dying again#he wanted to protect his son so badly#he loved his son so deeply and felt so much shame and remorse for his actions while he was the drunken vile bastard he had been in his past#i do nOT CONDONE his actions nor do i belive he has any right to foriveness for said actions#but i pitty him. he was trying to change#isnt that the very least we can ask of a person? to try changing#even if you arent around to be there which is your right he tried to do what so many wont dare#tried to change for the better#at least he died as a father trying to protect his son#fuck the movie#it did him so god damn dirty#i should watch the series#i havent seen it yet#if youve made it this far congratulations; youve hit bedrock!#thanks for listening to my rambles if you did make it this far
