— THE desire to go home and rest for the evening had Alexander’s body aching; his lids heavy with fatigue. He was halfway to his apartment, having traveled by foot since his previous destination hadn’t been far from where he lived. The route back included passing a few convenience stores on the way, and just as he was about to reach the last one, he noticed a stranger struggling with the bags they were carrying as they walked out. It was a shame that this poor human was having such a difficult time, and even more so that they would stumble across him of all people to lend a helping hand. How unfortunate...for them. With a deep breath, Alex plastered on that faker than fake smile he had gotten far too used to wearing before stepping up to them. “ Hi, do you need any help with that? “ he questioned as he held out a hand to take some of the bags. “ It looks like you took on a few too many, “ he teased, a small chuckle falling from his faux grin.
