I really badly want to get into The Magnus Archives. Everything I’ve seen of its lore and characters is so up my alley its unfair. BUT. It just happens to be a perfect mix of my two least liked media forms: horror and a podcast. Being the massive scaredy cat I am I looked around for transcripts, but the official ones seem to be incomplete and I just know it’ll drive me up the wall if I get Emotionally Invested and end up being unable to finish the series and/or unable to watch (listen to? read? experience?) all the episodes.
I’ve experienced a whole lot of it second hand through blog posts, but I still don’t have a concrete grasp on how scary it really is. Maybe I’ll read a few of the S1 transcripts (I can deal with horror way way better in written form) to see if I can get a feel for how high on the Spooky Meter it usually sits before risking my pants and a peaceful night’s rest...
(I have nothing against podcasts btw, but y’see by the time I got involved with the internet in any serious way they were pretty niche so the only times I ever hear audio of people talking is A) the car radio or B) when there’s an accompanying video. My dumb dog brain just. Does Not Understand how there can be speech and no video. No video?? Where people talking?? Can’t find video?? If I spritz myself with water a few times maybe I’ll be fine rip)
