Been a bit of a dearth of non-school and non-tabletop notes writing from me, which is something I'm trying real hard to fix. So, whenever inspiration strikes, I'm jotting things down, even if they don't end up like, particularly good. (So much absolutely garbage poetry, let me tell ya)
Buuuuuuuuut, I do have a short little drabble thing I'm actually quite happy with! Thank you to @cephalopadre for giving me a reason to fall back onto the SSSS.Gridman brainrot, and uh... Doing good art that I've been rotating in my head on loop. Cause that made this little thing happen, which hey, love to see it!
Ain't much, but...
Isn't She (Human)Lovely
"Rikka, quit squirming. I've gotta make sure its on straight."
Two girls stand facing each other, small smiles clinging to their faces. One fusses over the other, adjusting a soft purple string tie.
"You've got to? Akane, this was your idea…"
The second girl sighs slightly, whatever frustration there mostly feigned. The urge to brush some hair away is held back, as she tenses slightly. It was Akane's idea to swap jackets for the bit of time they had together here, and truth be told, Rikka hadn't quite understood why, but who was she to say no to her friend?
"S-Sure, but that just means it's gotta be just right. I'm… I'm still your god, even if I'm not around much anymore…"
That got a chuckle from Rikka, shaking away her attempted stillness. Taking the chance, as Akane huffs and pouts, she brushes some hair from her face, and leans in slightly.
"And it took this long to fix your glasses?"
Another brush of fingers, and the second girl pulls a lock of the first's lavender hair into a small twirl. Akane's face flushes the same color as her eyes, whatever amount of coolness she'd held onto melting away in a moment.
"I-it's not as easy back home, I can't just…"
Her words stick in her throat. She'd wanted to return for just a bit, show Rikka that she was put together again, and…
"You can't just all sorts of things Akane, that's fine. I'm just glad you're doing alright."
Another sigh, and Akane slumps into her friend, face planted firmly in shoulder, blush buried in the familiar purple fabric of the only jacket she'd ever worn here… Though, there was something to be said about it never being quite as warm as it was now that Rikka wore it.
"Me too…"
The second girl's soft smile widens, arms wrapping over her friend, her god, her… Well, that'd come later.
"I know I said I didn't want my wish to come true… But Akane, thank you."
A damp spot begins forming on her shoulder, and the two stay there for a bit longer.
I could write a post about how SSSS.Gridman is a genuinely amazingly written show about someone’s complete mental breakdown and slow recovery as she completely cuts herself off from the world and entirely immerses herself in her coping mechanisms, and how her own creation eventually lead her to realizing that creating a fake woman to fall in love with wasn’t healthy and that she couldn’t stay isolated forever. Or I could just say Rikkane good and move along.
Im cosplaying a character thats not reeeaaally in my cosplan list ahhaah~ but I do love Akane since she reminds me of me(i know... i need to sort myself)
