well the CLAIR course has a week-long seminar so I’m at that rn ;_;

but I’m gonna talk with the teacher as much as I can about, y’know, breaking into the field or whatnot, so I’ll pass along any information that I get

all the teachers here “happen to be” from a group called Simul. they teacher translation, I think, but a glance at the website suggested that they focus on educating japanese people. which, y’know, makes sense, but may be worth looking into!

either way i’ve tried doing this before and it really, really, rEALLY DOESN’T MAKE SENSE, a part of me wonders if those initial chapters were all, like? oneshots? before serialization REALLY started

Ah, thank you! That’s good to know... but unfortunately, makes the timeline make even less sense. There’s just no way November -- > summer --> December = less than one year can possibly add up mathematically. I think your theory about the early chapters being written more as oneshots makes a lot of sense. 

TBH, if I were in charge of smoothing out the timeline, I’d probably just remove the reference to it having been summer entirely? It also makes more sense because during the St. White’s Day arc, Dark and Daisuke are very much still learning to get along with each other. The character development makes far more sense if you assume they’ve been sharing a body for roughly a month, not over a year.

it SUCKS that they won’t let you take it if the BoE won’t pay for it, I experienced some stress bc I wasn’t sure they would pay ;_;

but if it makes you feel any better, the course’s organization is a little suspect, which is kinda stressing me out more than necessary lmao. the first test put a bunch of points into interpreting INTO japanese, which we literally never practiced once in the book, and the second test is due a week before we’re supposed to be finished with the second book
