Sic Semper Tyrannosaurus
I was listening to some of Raul’s voice lines, and it gave me an idea for a funny Arcade + Raul banter that’s plagued my mind for ages. (ft. My courier Riley)
By the time Riley reaches the second battle of Hoover Dam, the poor dude has just had enough. RIP Lanius.
Ah yes. Me. My boyfriend. And the twitchy eyebot that he calls his ‘child’.
Played through Old World Blues again recently, and I started thinking about one of my favorite parts of Riley’s time in Big MT. (Or, more specifically, what’s happening back in Vegas while he’s there.)
While Riley’s stuck in Big MT, I’ve always liked to imagine a sort of B-plot going on back in the Mojave/Vegas where Arcade, after having witnessed Riley get zapped away by the satellite first-hand, makes his way back to Freeside and tries to gather people and figure out just where the hell he went and if there’s a way to get him back. Because the last time Riley disappeared when investigating a weird radio frequency, it didn’t exactly end well for him. (Dead Money)
…meanwhile, Riley is having an absolute BLAST. The man is in his element. (Relatively) unbothered. Moisturised. Happy. In his lane. Focused. Flourishing. Only a little lobotomised. He gets to explore all the abandoned scientific facilities his little recently removed heart could desire! (And subsequently get incredibly disturbed by the unethical experiments that went on there.) He’s still itching to go home, but he’s doing just fine.
Welcome to another episode of “Riley’s curiosity gets the better of him, and now he has to experience situations™.”
This time, he’s gotta deal with the Twilight Zone mad scientist crater.
“If it isn’t the clever one.”
hi! sorry if this has been asked before, but in one of your posts, riley left his heart back at big mt and didnt get it back. is this canon to riley's story or was it just a joke post? im asking cause i wanted to know how buddy, ed-e, and yes man react to riley's heartless perk. i saw a headcanon somewhere that all robots are somewhat confused by the courier's heartless perk, not just hostile robots and i thought it was funny, especially when applied to riley! ^^
MANN I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THAT-
Yeah, Riley just flat out forgets to put his heart and spine back in for a solid day or two after Old World Blues.
He was getting ready to head back home after everything, he had his heart in a jar on a desk to give it to the auto-doc, but got distracted and just... forgot.
So this makes the idea of his first day back home (and the bots reactions to it) so funny because-
Imagine the pure horror and confusion from seeing your friend come back from an unplanned 2-week 'vacation' and he just- doesn't have a heartbeat. He's still walking like normal and everything, but he still doesn't have a goddamn heartbeat. What the fuck.
Bonus, kinda related doodle:
