for the book rec! I'm a senior in college- headed back to the west coast as soon as possible. I enjoy historical fiction and fantasy, but am generally down to read anything.
Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly! It’s part historical fiction, part a modern coming of age story and is an absolutely gorgeous book (it’s also fab if you like music, or France & it has a bit of a fantasy element to it, although I won’t ruin the story!). I also think Saving Francesca, by Melina Marchetta is a really good book to read when you’re about to go through a major life change -- it’s young adult, but honestly, stick with it until the end. It’s worth it, and really stayed with me. Slouching Towards Bethlehem by Joan Didion is my final recommendation -- essays about America, specifically California, during the 60s!
