one of the things I feel like I keep seeing on tumblr is that even when an attempt to be good/correct/appropriate it just gets shot down because it's never good ENOUGH. Sorry it's a bit late and I'm too tired to properly explain what I mean.

i do kinda understand where they're coming from though. like most of the stuff around here i see is people wanting more diverse casts of characters in media, but when non-white characters are added they aren't handled very well?? which usually is blamed as a result of production crews being ahem predominantly white. i think it makes sense for people to be really specific/picky about that kind of stuff because they have every right to be
but then it's like look at Steven Universe and its diverse production crew and cast of characters and it's like....you really really just have to grasp at straws to find such problematic flaws in it?? p sure most people grappling with the Garnet's third eye issue are white people with savior complexes though so???? they don't really have a right to label what's offensive and what isn't so i'm not gonna worry too much about it. it's just irritating and makes me upset
