In response to suddenly remembering Bedi is in FSN: I suddenly remembered that I hated Bedivere for like 3 hours because I saw a clip (dont remember this in the original) but he had a voice that almost matched Arturia's voice and I was completely dead inside and hated him. Then I listened to his voice recordings from the FGO game and I am happy again and loving him

I think I have an answer to your geisha thing. Geisha, though technically considered prostitutes, did not always sell sex. They sold arts. Yes sexual relations were involved but identify you think about it, they were more like sex slaves.
No, geisha weren’t sex workers at all! They were hired for their arts and wits exclusively. Afaik, nobody stopped them from having sexual encounters either but that was absolutely not their purpose.
And the strange thing about Akesato and the others is that they live in Shimabara, are obviously prostitutes (yuujo is the common term and oiran/tayuu are the higher/highest ranking yuujo, I’m pretty sure Akesato was a tayuu) but they’re called geisha in the manga.
