in my fucking cv for any animal care jobs i went on a huge tangent ab how poorly viewed animals deserve protection and respect just as much as positively viewed animals do . i spoke about how animals with poor biases associated with them are mistreated because of it or are neglected at the minimum by most people . i wrote about how i wanted to care for the lesser respected animals since even in the industry a lot of the time they’re brushed to the side and ignored for more “desirable jobs” like dog groomers and horse riders .
these animals are also important in life and though companies market lovable animals like pandas and elephants , species of amphibians and reptiles are dying out and no one seems to care or want to help them . animals like this are often denied life-saving care in exchange for just buying another with pet owners just because they cost less to replace than save . and a lot of pet owners only have them in the first place for their own gain and benefit
people who completely disregard and despise animals of any kind are irredeemable and that’s something i will always stand by - i’m not a vegan nor vegetarian but i still feel strongly about it . i think it’s a reflection of apathy onto the person . if you can’t care enough about small lives like bugs , you just genuinely don’t care for life . bugs , amphibians , reptiles , vermin animals , they all serve purpose no matter how little they are and they all deserve life . if you eliminate one animal species from a habitat , the rest will reap the concequences .
anyway bc of that my auntie said she wanted me to go to university for herpetolgy (bc that’s (obviously) my fav thing in animal care) instead of tryna work but , me and education don’t work well
