AAWFC Wednesday, October 26th: Post a review, link, or promo for asexual spectrum literature. This can be for any type of literature (fiction, fanfiction, comics, webcomics, nonfiction, poetry, etc.)
I came across the comic Crash and Burn at a small comics festival this summer. The artist had a sign on their the table saying that it was a “Queer Space Opera,” and that was what initially caught my attention. I bought the prologue, read it, and immediately went back for Chapter One.
The story is set in a future where humanity has made contact with a species of agender birdlike aliens, and the main character, Cora, is on a diplomatic mission with a group of other humans.
^Cora
Cora is a pyrokinetic metahuman who takes shit from no one. She is also asexual, and an all around badass.
The comic has some awesome worldbuilding and alien design. It is fast moving and witty. I highly recommend it both as a good queer comic with asexual representation, and as good sci fi.
You can find the comic on cb-comic.com, or the tumblr @cb-comic.
Crash and burn inspired hard boiled eggs!! It just happened so I'm leaving it here.
