RINKTOBER day 7: in tears!!!
Hey everyone! So @inknose is doing a thing called "rinktober,” which from what I understand is basically inktober but YOI style. Which I (surprise surprise) think is a splendid idea! I was gonna do a crapton of yoi for inktober anyway, so I'm starting the month over again and doing these prompts instead. (I say “starting over” because I do have a few other ones up on my instagram). I’ll post the ones I do maybe once a week or so until the month is over so I don’t spam you guys too much with it. ; o Though if you’d rather see them as they come out, they’ll be posted daily on my instagram.
Also if anyone else wants to join in, the prompt list can be found here~
And just in case anyone is wondering: I am working on more Mermaid AU! I’m just using the inktober/rinktober thing as a good way to warm-up/down : )
Day 5 of Inktober: Long live Makkachin (another one for day 8 of @yoianniversary).

Rinktober Day 22: Vkusno!!!. OtaYuri. Otabek is hungry.
"Smells good," Otabek called. He dropped his bag and stretched out his shoulder. Physical therapy was taking way too much time and it seemed like he was home later and later every day.
He went into the kitchen and leaned in for Yuri's kiss.
"Take this." Yuri shoved a spatula at him. "I'll be right back." He yelled from the other room. "Keep stirring!"
Otabek stirred. Yuri was cooking finely chopped meat and greens in some sort of sauce. And it smelled amazing.
"Are you stirring?" Yuri called.
"I'm stirring!" Otabek's mouth started to water. There hadn't been time for lunch and PT went late and now his stomach was growing and he had to swallow before he drooled right into the skillet.
He stuck a finger into the sauce and licked it. Even better than it smelled. Then he scooped up a mouthful on the spatula. Delicious. Maybe even transcendent.
Yuri probably had some garnish or oil to finish the whole thing after he plated it, he was fussy about that. But Otabek couldn't stop himself from taking another bite. Two more bites. Three.
"We're going to–" Yuri stopped in the doorway.
Otabek also stopped, the spatula halfway to his mouth. "It's really good," he said.
"Beka, that's CAT FOOD." Yuri stalked over and yanked the spatula out of his hand. "It's for THE CAT." He grabbed the skillet, like he was expecting Otabek to keep eating from it. "Potya needs warm food."
Otabek stared at the skillet. Hunger usually made things taste better but still! What kind of cat food was this? "Sorry," he said. "I didn't–"
"I WAS going to take you out for supper. But now I need to make another batch. You can heat up some leftovers when I'm done."
Otabek sighed. Yuri's irritation was usually explosive, hot and fast and over soon. But if Potya was involved, he could be touchy for hours. Plus Otabek had just eaten cat food. Cat food.
He went into the bedroom and got the box he kept in the closet for emergencies. When he got back to the kitchen, Yuri was chopping greens and muttering to the cat, who was busy with what seemed like a perfectly adequate amount of food.
"I got this for Potya." Otabek held out a cat toy, a quite expensive fluffy jingle ball that he knew was going to annoy him for weeks before it wore out. But it would be worth it if Yuri would just...
Yuri stared coldly for three seconds. The his face sprang into a smile, eyes going soft and beaming at Otabek. He put down the knife. "It's perfect." He crossed and put his arms around Otabek. "You know, there probably aren't enough leftovers after all. And I did make a reservation."
Otabek hugged Yuri back, relaxing against him. "Even your cat food is delicious," he said.
Yuri laughed. "Next time, I'll make enough for two."
