Rin/Konekomaru?

1. What made you ship it?
What made me ship it?!? LOOK AT THEM.
They're both such very soft, gentle boys. They got along well from the get go, and although they had a rough patch for a handful of days during the Kyoto Arc, they made up with such an earnest display of friendship and trust. And there's so many panels of them just hanging out. Rin likes Konekomaru, plain and simple. He even mentioned wanting to befriend Godaiin purely because he has Koneko-vibes.
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
Rin being so openly affectionate with Konekomaru. The head rubs! And even going as far as to feed him!! Rin 100% wants to spoil Konekomaru. He just can't resist his cuteness.
Also, I love the way Konekomaru understands Rin. It always stood out to me that in the chapter where he was going off on everyone, from his childhood friends, to Izumo and even Shiemi, telling them what they need to do better to cooperate with each other, to Rin, he didn't bring him down, but instead reassured him that he is their trump card. The right words for Rin, who has a lot of inner doubts despite putting on a tough front, were ones that gave him the confidence to trust himself.
And honestly, they are Kuro's co-parents and nobody can tell me otherwise. Outside of the twins, we all know that Kuro's fav is Konekomaru.
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
My "unpopular" but very correct opinion is that Konekomaru is a sweetie that does not deserve to be demonized by the fandom for having a completely realistic and understandable reaction to Rin's drastic reveal. If Mephisto hadn't manipulated the situation to show everyone the worst, most out of control side of Rin, to his classmates who weren't in the least prepared for it, who grew up with a lot of trauma, things wouldn't have turned out the way that they did.
Those who easily dismiss Konekomaru don't consider the fact that he is an orphan, that the Myou Dha is his only family and he feels indebted to them, and Ryuuji is so very precious for him, which is a feeling born of familial love as much as it is obligation due to his upbringing. And Konekomaru doesn't consider himself strong until well into the Illuminati arc. So that feeling of weakness and unworthiness, led to him to be very understandably scared. What could he possibly do if Rin, who had hidden something so big from everyone already, wasn't what he seemed? What could he do if Rin wanted to hurt Ryuuji?
But he surpassed those feelings and very sincerely apologized. Look at how heartfelt he was!
Honestly, I don't understand how anyway can look at this face and hate this baby??? Especially when Rin is so sweet to him??
They're an excellent ship. Rin would so eagerly take him out on dates, Konekomaru would be such a patient study buddy, they would cook a lot of meals together, and they'd buy so many cat toys to spoil Kuro, and just aaaaaa, they just have a great, sweet relationship that is just too cute for words.
