its a shame school curriculum was thought up in such a way to specifically make me hate doing all of these things that i would like if they just gave me more freedom to experiment in ways that i like.
i could be a average writer but writing was made to be such a chore that i couldn't even force myself to try.
i mean assignments about topics that have been assigned year after year and debated to death feel so pointless to me because you gave me something i have no prior investment in and ask me to have an opinion when theres nothing novel or interesting i could say as a child who really cant be bothered. i always felt neutral about the super plain topics they gave us like they were interesting topics but why ask me to rehash 2-3 sources in an essay. wouldn't it be more engaging to have the student pick a topic and find resources themself? being able to research is also a skill isnt it?
when i get something i get it and i can actually find even math enjoyable but its getting to that point that is the issue. and the standard switches constantly so they teach you one way and the next year they get mad you wont do it this other new way. being taught there is only one way to do anything at all is just ridiculous.
the longer time went on the less it felt like anyone involved in my education even cared at all and that sucks because I CARED i wanted to succeed even at an average level but i never got enough support to not be left in the dust.
just saying whatever tbh idk i was just thinking about this today.
