✏️💘 TMrcW DEMO REVIEW — “TUTOR ME HARDER, LUKE” 💘✏️ ⚠️SPOILER!
(aka: “The Math Remedial Criminal Whoopsies” or “This Might Rot Your Brain But In a Good Way”)
Disclaimer: I speedrun'd this on 2 hours of sleep, with the blood of three energy drinks in my veins, and a dream. And that dream was to pass math and possibly seduce a suspiciously attractive nerd. Did it work? No. Am I emotionally invested? Yes.
🚨 CONTENT WARNINGS:
Violence, stalking, mild violent language, bullying.
If you’re sensitive to that, tread carefully. If you’re not? Get in loser, we’re going to math purgatory.
IMPORTANT NOTE FROM THE GAME ITSELF:
“If you get uncomfortable with the game, that’s your problem.”
Iconic. They warned you. You play at your own risk. This is math, but unhinged. No one is emotionally stable here.
---------
🧮 THE PREMISE:
You’re a delinquent. Not the sexy cool kind. The “on academic probation and has rage issues” kind. You’ve got one week to unfail math or kiss your GPA goodbye. In desperation (and maybe hunger-fueled hysteria), you corner the local human calculator: Luke. A nerd. A mystery. A man who knows Pi to 300 digits but probably doesn’t know how to make eye contact with people.
He agrees to tutor you. But like. Intense tutoring. Mind games. Emotional warfare. Sudden confessions. CGs unlocked by what you name yourself. At least according to the premise! So far, it's cute math equations game and it's funsies!
💻 WHO MADE THIS MONSTROSITY?
Teacuppo – Head director, programmer, and main artist (the mastermind and also probably the reason Luke’s wobbly smile is so hot).
BunnyBraT – Script writer and certified chaos gremlin (the dialogue slaps so hard it gave me whiplash).
Haru – Translator (we love a multilingual legend).
Kwan – Project thesis writer (YES there’s a thesis. That’s how serious this fever dream is).
✨ WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS DEMO?
You choose your name, DUH?????
You meet Luke, a math nerd who radiates “I love you but I will report you to the authorities, OH ACTUALLY I'M GONNA REPORT MYSELF TO THE AUTHORITIES!” energy.
You try to study, but somehow end up tangled in a web of emotional repression, YOUR constant state of bullying, and vague threats of violence.
There’s stalking, OMG YES IT's the PLot-TwIst but it’s kinda romantic(?), okay i'm unhinged.
The dialogue walks a tightrope between unhinged teen drama and genuinely tender moments.
If you mess up a math question? Luke doesn’t yell. He looks disappointed. Which is somehow worse???
🎨 VISUALS:
The art? Serves. Luke’s sprite has more expressions than I do coping mechanisms.
The CG is shockingly polished for a game made in under 2 weeks (are you okay, Teacuppo? Blink twice).
Subtle style changes to match emotional beats?? Delicious.
🧍♂️LUKE — THE LOVE INTEREST:
“I love Criminology, but I love you more.” Sir, this is a Wendy’s.
He’s:
Soft-spoken but sharp-tongued
Will probably call you stupid but with longing in his eyes
Definitely has a knife collection “for studying purposes”
Will ruin your life and then help you pass finals
💥 FINAL THOUGHTS:
It’s a two-week miracle coded with caffeine and spite. Can't wait for the full-one !!!!!!!!! Loving the premise with this one, owo. #nerds
You will:
Laugh.
Get stressed by fictional algebra.
Fall in love with a nerd who should probably be in therapy.
Start questioning your own emotional availability.
Final Score: 14/10 Would let Luke mock my math skills again.
