i think something that would've fixed leo and frank's awkward conflict would be if they had banter about something much smaller and less personal that they had strong but petty opinions on, like that post talking about how frank loves marvel while leo loves DC. they both seem like they would be incredibly petty and try to make as many references to their fandom as long as the other person is around just to spite them. and there would be a dramatic ending where they seem to be talking about DC and marvel but they're actually talking about hazel.

oh, and hazel would be in the background, completely unknowledgeable to whatever the heck is going on and giving both of them an excuse to get haze to support their fandom more.

this comes with much deliberation but here we go: (also i limited this to the original pjo characters, not considering hoo yet!)

5. nico di angelo! his and bianca’s existence was a crazy addition to the series, and his involvement with the prophecy added so much to the books. also his growth and dedication to those he loves even after going through so much by the end of heroes of olympus is beautiful <3

4. thalia grace!!! she’s so underrated but her appearances are always iconic and her connection to jason later on was honestly a big plot twist that made me like them even more 

3. grover underwood :)) he rounded out the original trio which can never be forgotten or replaced, and his ambition and loyalty as a friend and protector is so admirable

2. annabeth chase :) i’ve always had a connection to her and appreciate her growth as a character so much, even as it extended into heroes of olympus

1. percy jackson! he will always hold such a special place in my heart as a narrator,  character and hero!!
