anyway have any of you ever thought about how Jason was raised by wolves and then an army and told he had to be the best so he became the best, made himself the best using his experiences and power, who has to prove himself time and time again to the people who made him, and then he meets Percy Jackson who, with almost none of Jason’s training, without having been raised and molded into a leader, is better than him

Percy Jackson, who had a childhood, who had a mom, who seems all the better for it. Jason can finish his quests and missions and get a pat on the back and congratulations for bringing honor to the Legion and nothing else because that’s what’s expected of him, while Percy gets hugs and cookies and tears of relief and so much love because people had been hoping he’d succeed, not because it meant victory, but because it meant he'd live.

all of the things Jason’s gone through to make him that perfect leader and soldier feel like they were all for nothing because he looks at Percy Jackson and sees that perfect leader and soldier and none of the things that made Jason good are what made him great

I’ve seen this kind of thing before and a lot of them are full of random weird shit you’d never make…because of time constraints or like, it just sounds super gross.

But this one had a whole section that’s just “Things on Toast”. Another that was all about putting crap in your oatmeal to make it better. Those are fairly pedestrian and don’t take forever.

I haven’t looked through the whole thing yet but so far it’s actually pretty practical. Also if you’re broke like me and don’t know how to make Dal, you should get on that. 

I also liked that there’s this at the beginning:

Nah cause you guys don't understand bianca do Angelo like how I understand Bianca di Angelo. Miss girl spends her entire life looking out for her annoying brother and let's be real here, Nico was really annoying when we met him. Because he was ten. That's how ten year olds are. But what you think is her abandoning him the very first chance she got is so much deeper than that. She was found by this group of young women just like her. There's a couple kids a year or so younger than her who helped save her and her little brother from dying. And they promise to take care of him because that's what they do. They take care of each other. And Nico's only ten, he would have plenty of time to learn how to protect himself with the guidance of these more experienced kids who've been training each other and everyone around them for so long. Of course she's going to trust them, they know what they're doing. Bianca could have stayed with Nico, but she's been taking care of him her entire life, far too much responsibility put on someone so young. Bianca's only 14, she doesn't need that kind of stress all the time. So, when this group of young women just like her, with this strong bond just like a family, who would keep her safe like she did for Nico, of course she's going to take it. She knows Nico's going to be safe, and a hunter of Artemis lives forever. She can still see him grow up, just from afar. She still loves him, she just couldn't be around him and take care of him all day everyday. She'll be safe. He'll be safe. They'll learn how to survive. Maybe separately, but she still loves him.

She doesn't know that she's going to die. She doesn't know that Nico will go into a depressive spiral. She doesn't know. She's doing what she thinks is best for both of them.

She's a very logical kid. She wouldn't just drop her little brother as soon as she could. She thought about it, long and hard

jason and piper were literally written to be star-crossed lovers do you guys realize that. they were put together intentionally by higher forces and at the same time those higher forces were writing out their fates! one of them will die! it’s like luke’s fucking soul being reaped except there is No exception there is No stopping it and it is Not for the greater good. one of them will die 

LIKE!!! they shouldn’t have even met!!! their relationship wasn’t even real!!! jason woke up on a bus with a bunch of random strangers and his obligation to piper was because of her obligation to him! her obligation to him was because of a bunch of false memories! and the fact. the fact that through it all through their quests and breakup and separation and whatever the fact that they ended up loving each other differently and yet more than the memories could’ve ever said only for her to watch. to watch jason. DIE? SICK. 

he was her best friend! she was his best friend! they loved each other So Much they had So Much History she knew the story behind every single scar on his body and he had memorized every single story she had ever told him because in the weeks before his death he would recite them at night to feel closer to her. because he loved her! and she loved him! and even amidst her identity crisis and his stupid ass savior complex they were still each other’s number ones. leo was gone and reyna was hardly jason’s friend anymore same with the other romans and and and annabeth and percy were starting over in new rome and nico was far away at camp starting anew with will. jason had no best friends except for her! lovely brave daring piper and it didn’t MATTEr if she didn’t love him romantically because she still loved him

jesus christ piper finally accepting herself and her identity and her place in jason’s life jason realizing on the car ride there that this is his BEST FUCKING FRFIEND IN THE ENTIRE WORLD AND HE LOVES HER SO MUCH and then a few hours later she watches him just DIE. JUST DIE. she didn’t even get to say goodbye do you know how absolutely positively resolutely SICK that is. do you know that jason will never get to have that best friend. do you know that piper will never tell him any more stories. do you know that they will never look at the same stars ever AGAIN. do you know piper will always have a gaping hole somewhere inside of her because he was her best friend and she was going to love him forever

no one talk to me i’m ripping my hair out. jiper is my favorite ship not because they were great together they SUCKED together but they were BEST FRIENDS and when no one else cared about them they cared about each other. piper lost half of her heart when jason died WHAT THE FUCK! she was the boldness to his kindness he was the the the the love to her hurt. she would have listened to all of his stupid random facts and he would’ve learned to braid her hair specifically the way she liked it. no one talk to me they make me sick

we were robbed of a pipercy friendship. chaos duo. both have survivor’s guilt. percy thinks he’s disgusting when he uses his powers to blood bend and piper is the only person that really truly understands because she hates controlling people. both think they’re unlovable, percy because he sees himself as a monster, piper because she thinks in order for someone to love her she has to make them love her because otherwise she is too broken

so percy learning how to make beadwork and then braiding it into her hair when they hangout together. piper doing his eyeliner for him but only in the way that he likes it. them sparring because piper wants to get better at swordfighting and percy doesn’t want to use his powers so much anymore. percy wrapping his arms around piper and dunking her into the pool when they go swimming and her kicking at him and splashing him

piper killing monsters in battle using her charmspeak when the situation is dire because she knows how much percy absolutely cannot stand using his powers to do it. percy always watching her back. percy being the first one that knew about her breakup with jason and instead of saying anything just holding her and telling her it’s okay, she did the right choice, she’s a good person and a good friend and it’s not her fault the gods are fucking crazy. on that topic, percy wanting to fight the gods for piper and piper spitting on hera’s shrines not only for jason but for percy and annabeth too

percy dragging piper on dates with him and annabeth when she’s self isolating after jason’s death. iris messaging her every day, no matter if he has to skip classes to talk to her, because she’s one of his best friends and school matters nothing compared to what she matters to him. him visiting her the first chance he gets and it’s the first time she’s laughed since jason has died. he takes her out for ice cream and afterwards they sit in a field and paint on each other

them skateboarding together! percy teaches piper how to skate and in return she teaches him how to surf (not without making fun of him because how on earth does the son of poseidon not know how to surf???) them holding hands when they walk around town together but when someone assumes they’re a couple they both go, “no, we have a crush on a hot blonde, actually. it’s why we’re friends.” they also get matching tattoos 

or in an alternate universe where something happens to annabeth percy and piper are the only people that will talk to each other. they find solace in each other because annabeth was percy’s first love and annabeth was piper’s first real friend at camp and they are both so beyond devastated but there’s a little bit of annabeth in each other and they hold onto that because they know that annabeth loved them both and they can carry on her spirit that way
